- Cremation held in Darwin, Ashes transferred to Putaruru where service and burial held. Some ashes placed in plot of his wife Josephine Frances Doherty (nee Pound), the rest scattered on the farm of Rod and Rita McKinnon in Waotu (Outside of Putaruru.)
Rod and Rita are great friends of the family, a place where Charles used to keep his race horses, one of his pastimes.
