- Inscription
In loving memory of James Arthur Wellington accidentally killed at Te Aute, on 27 Aug 1902 in his 21st year. These versea are inserted by his loving parents. Twas hard to part with one so dear. We little thought his end was near, but Jesus thought it best to end his toils and give him rest. Dearest Arthur we have laid you in the peaceful grave of grace but thy memory shall be cherished until we see thy heavenly face. Had he asked us well we know, we would cry Oh spare this blow, yes with steaming tears would pray would pray Lord we love him let him stay.
