    • Goldmining while being in the blood was a weekend hobby for Richard and a mate. Not known who girls in the photo are.
      When on his own at the claim one day Richard got caught in a slip, he was nearly buried and broke his leg. Lost the skin off his hands digging himself out. Doctors were going to Amputate leg but his brother James (Fr Jim) said not to let them and his leg healed leaving him with just a minor limp.
