While there took a period of leave on secondment to Fiji Police. He was appointed No 2 Constable in Carterton in April 1911. Appointed Constable in Charge, Greytown 13 May 1921. Served as Clerk of the Court, and on Bench as Justice of the Peace. Retired 1 Mar 1946. Moved to Masterton, 15 Hessey St.
