Notes |
- James Krome (1877-1957) was born in Toowoomba, where he worked as a compositor on the Chronicle newspaper. He also gained employment as a shearer and tram conductor. In 1909 he married Violet Olive Wright (1884-1974) in Brisbane. They moved to North Arm in1915 and took up farming on Gold Creek Road before moving to a nearby cane property in Kromes Road (named after the family ca 1970). During the 1920s-1930s James and other farmers in the vicinity cleared scrubland and grew bananas. In 1944 their son Eric bought their property and they retired to Coolum Beach. James and Violet had three sons.
