BURT, Trevor Erskine (Ming). Royal NZ Navy NZ3899. On Sunday 21st October 2012 peacefully at Te Puke Country Lodge aged 90 years. Loved and cherished husband of Shirley for 60 years. Loved father and father in law of David and Lyndy (Tasmania), Paul and Louise, John and Linda, Tony (London), Julie and Ray. Treasured granddad of his 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. A celebration of Ming?s life will be held in the St David?s Presbyterian Church, College Rd, Edgecumbe on Saturday 27th October at 2pm followed by private cremation. Veronica E. Schossler
October 26, 1918 - October 21, 2010
Veronica E. Schossler, age 91, of St. Rt. 46 S., Jefferson, died early Thursday morning, Oct. 21, 2010, at Jefferson Healthcare Center. She was born Oct. 26, 1918, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Olszewski) Kapala and had lived in this area most of her life, living in Jefferson since 1946.
She was married to Stanley Schossler on Oct. 19, 1946, at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church. They owned and operated Schossler Dairy Farm until their retirement. Mrs. Schossler also raised hundreds of chickens, supplying the Jefferson schools and local restaurants with eggs for many years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church and the Griggs Grange. She enjoyed raising flowers, vegetable gardening and baking.
Survivors include a son, Stanley E. (Nancy) Schossler of Conneaut; and two grandchildren, Nicole Renee and Alex Stanley Schossler, both of Jefferson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley in 2001; a daughter in infancy; brothers, Andrew, Michael and John Kapala; and sisters, Marie Semproch, Helen Wooten, Leona Lichota and Violet Hill.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26th, at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Wassie presiding. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25th, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Calasanctius Church Building Fund at the above address or envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
